Immigration reform and the church
If New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson remains in the presidential race long enough, he could help the immigration debate become a linchpin of the 2008 election. Richardson’s candidacy — he has a Mexican mother and leads the state with the highest percentage of Hispanics — promises to give this matter some intense focus at a time when much hangs in the balance for immigrants and their families.
