Promise fulfilled
“Three days, I promise.” In December 1992, James and Jennifer Stolpa with their infant son set out to drive from their home in California to a funeral in Idaho. Along the way they turned onto a remote road and became lost in the Nevada desert. After four days sitting in their bogged-down truck, they waited in vain for rescue. Finally, with little food and minimal winter clothing, they set out in sub-freezing temperatures to find help.
