Pastoral changes
On Sept. 27 we had a special service of welcome and farewell as we welcomed Meg Lumsdaine and her husband, Peter, and children Sophia and Brendon into our fellowship. Meg will be serving as our new pastor. We also sadly bid farewell to our pastor, Gary Jewell, and his wife, Jan Yoder Jewell, and their children Ria and Elsa, as Gary’s term as interim pastor is now completed. Cecil Miller from Warden joined us in our worship and offered a prayer for both Gary’s family and Meg’s family at the end of our service. We appreciated the time the Jewells spent in our midst and hope and pray that our fellowship with them will continue.

Anointing, discipleship
Many people in the congregation have been carrying burdens of one sort or another for a long time, which prompted an anointing service on Aug. 18, based on the exhortation in James 5:13-15. This was a welcome time of prayer, praise and anointing by the elders.
