Journey groups
Cincinnati Mennonite Fellowship
By Violet SearsThis summer, Pastor Joel Miller and Ed Diller attended the Mennonite World Conference in Paraguay, with reports from both to our congregation.
The conference seemed to be quite exciting and informative. We are blessed to have both of them in our leadership.
We offered a congregational blessing to Ed and Karen Diller for Ed’s work as Mennonite Church USA moderator and Karen’s support of him. Connie Briggs made a small quilt our members signed with thanks for the guidance and all the work that they are doing.
Our Safe Sanctuary committee is approaching its final version of their policy, designed to keep our littlest members safe from harm. We look forward to its completion and appreciate all the hard work that has been involved in this groundbreaking policy development.
Our leadership slate for the new year has been created with the addition of Community Meal as a committee. Community Meal has exploded in popularity (and need) over the last few months; the council felt that the leadership involved in organizing the changes needed to be recognized.
Journey groups are beginning to blossom this autumn. We have tried to create small groups with similar interests that will grow and where we can nurture each other as we strengthen our connections with each other and with God.
We are renting our church building to a church plant in our community. New City Presbyterian reached out to Pastor Joel Miller and our congregation to find a home for their new congregation. We are glad to offer our church space to them, so that they may grow in Christ as well.
