Algeria legacy
By Marian Hostetler Elkhart, Ind.Thank you for the Nov. 16 article by Mark Conrad, “San Diego Muslim Leader Tells of Pax Algeria Legacy.”
I served in Algeria from 1961 to 1970, and I know this story will be an encouragement to all of the 142 Mennonite and Brethren in Christ “Algeria alumni” still living who served there, to know that their service, which might have seemed discouraging at the time, is remembered and was important.
For anyone interested in knowing more about the happenings during the 23 years of Mennonite service in Algeria, my book, Algeria: Where Mennonites and Muslims Met, 1955-1978, published in 2003, is still available for $7, postage included, from Marian Hostetler, 57717 Seventh St., Elkhart, IN 46517.
