U.S. flag removed
At the congregation’s annual meeting Nov. 1, members voted by a 69 percent majority to remove from the sanctuary the U.S. and Christian flags that had been placed there in 1942. The action was taken in response to a request by the pastoral staff, followed by a recommendation by the church board.

Loving the neighbors
Our congregation enjoys creating opportunities to interact with the community surrounding our urban church.

Communion and community
On Sept. 27, we welcomed back Pastor Cindy Lapp from her three-month sabbatical. She thanked the congregation for this gift and shared that the sabbatical gave her the opportunity to reconnect with her family and with God.
