Goshen students and community members walked with banners and signs to the Elkhart County Courthouse where they gathered for music, speakers and signing petitions.
It was one of 5,200 events for 350.org‘s day calling for strong action on climate change.
Students also collected the college’s trash for three days, gathering 250 bags of uncompressed waste, or about 32 cubic yards. They separated out the recyclables — about a fourth of the trash — and then formed the rest into the shape of 350.
