‘Children of Abraham’ together
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Passover was different here this year, uniting people of three faiths.
Emmanuel Mennonite Church hosted an interfaith “Seder for the Children of Abraham” April 8 with about 70 participants: one-third Muslim, one-third Jewish and one-third Christian.

A great leader
I was saddened to read that Erland Waltner passed away. He was truly a great leader and teacher. When I came to Bethel College in 1954 he was my mentor and professor. I had transferred from Philadelphia Bible Institute. It took a lot of adjusting, and Erland helped me a great deal.

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A weekend full of generous giving equaled a successful 41st Kansas Mennonite Relief Sale April 17-18. The sale raised $433,388 for Mennonite Central Committee, up a little more than $39,000 from last year.

Early missionary to Colombia dies at 90
WARREN, Ind. — Janet Soldner Nussbaum, one of the first Mennonite missionaries to Colombia, died April 9 at Heritage Pointe. She was 90.
