While our main business each week is up-to-date news and features, we also know from our Web statistics and requests we receive that many people read our archive material.
Kennel-Shank and Dignin
Mennonite Weekly Review has a treasure trove of past articles we’d like to get online for easy reader access, but I only have time to do archiving sporadically as Web editor.
So I developed a new project through which supporters can help two Mennonite organizations at once.
My Chicago office is in the same neighborhood, Pilsen, as the Mennonite Voluntary Service unit in the city.
So we have invited one of the volunteers, Mallory Dignin, to work alongside me to build our archives for only the living costs she receives through MVS.
Thus, supporters of this project will be helping MWR as well as funding a young person’s service. Through this archiving project, I would also teach Dignin valuable Web skills.
We all know there are many good Mennonite organizations hurting for money right now. But this opportunity to bring Mennonite organizations together was too good to pass up.
Small donations go far:
-
$5 pays for one hour of Dignin building MWR’s archives.
-
$40 pays for one day.
