Miracle testimonies
Goessel (Kan.) Mennonite Church
By Joyce UnruhMarch was devoted to “Miracles in March,” when individuals gave their personal testimonies. Harold Unruh, Lucinda Hiebert, Jenny Girard and Courtney Becker participated. Their testimonies were very inspiring.
By a unanimous vote on April 5, the congregation elected Joe Wuest as our half-time youth pastor. He will begin his duties on Aug. 15.
On April 3, our annual Mennonite Men’s supper was held for the entire congregation for their annual fundraiser. The meal was prepared by Alan Schmidt. The Brothers and Sisters Group from our church gave a program after the meal.
Maundy Thursday services were held with a communion service. A moving candlelight service was held at the end, where candles were lit around the sanctuary and extinguished one by one until all were out and the sanctuary was dark, depicting Jesus’ death on the cross.
Pastor Mike Hiebert began a series on the “Twelve Disciplines,” which will continue throughout the summer.
Birth: Adrianna Lilly, March 24, to Robert and Allison Sieberns.
Grandparents are Leroy and Nancy Schmidt.
John L. Hybsha died April 21. Survivors: wife, Wilma; and seven children.
