Anthem’s idolatry
Many thanks to Celeste Kennel-Shank for her editorial, “The National Anthem and Christ’s Lordship.” I was surprised that the president of a Mennonite college advocates playing the national anthem. This reminds me of the irony of President Obama’s acceptance speech for the Nobel Peace Prize, using this award and a public forum to justify war.
