Faith and Life director to retire
By John Longhurst Mennonite Publishing NetworkWATERLOO, Ont. — After 27 years of working in the area of Christian education, Eleanor Snyder will retire in July from her position as director of Faith and Life Resources at Mennonite Publishing Network.

Snyder has worked since 2003 for MPN, a ministry of Mennonite Church USA and Mennonite Church Canada.
The mission of Faith and Life Resources is to provide congregational resources that equip the church to experience and share the gospel of Jesus Christ from an Anabaptist perspective.
Snyder was director of children’s education for the General Conference Mennonite Church from 1994 to 2002. She was a minister of Christian education for Mennonite Church Eastern Canada from 1988 to 1994. She also managed the Ontario Mennonite Resource Centre from 1980 to 1986.
During her career she helped develop three denomniational Sunday school curricula — Foundation Series, Jubilee and Gather ’Round — and a number of vacation Bible school curricula.
She has worked on the supplements to Hymnal: A Worship Book: Sing the Story and Sing the Journey. She has led workshops for Christian educators, guided family-based ministry initiatives and worked with volunteers to promote resources in area conferences in the United States and Canada.
“Eleanor brought a wealth of experience in Christian education and curriculum development to her work at MPN,” said Ron Rempel, MPN executive director. “Her collaborative leadership style is much appreciated by her colleagues. She will be missed.”
