Love letter

By Pauline WysePastor Nathan Luitjens preached a series of sermons on human sexuality, which ended on Valentine’s Day. The last sermon was a “Love Letter” from the Song of Solomon.
The MYF had a lasagna dinner as a fundraiser, realizing $2,500. Our all-church project of relief kits for January and February resulted in 44 kits and $655.
At the Primetimers meeting in February, Diane Zaerr Brenneman, co-pastor of Washington Mennonite Church, gave her spiritual pilgrimage on becoming a pastor, wife and mother.
Mennonite Women knotted a comforter for the Iowa MCC Sale.
Last year’s “Turkey Grill” at Old Threshers raised $12,500. Funds were distributed among the Cemetery Fund, Crooked Creek Christian Camp, home missions, the MYF, Parkview Home and student aid.
Bob Hartzler researched and made a booklet of ministers from 1855 to 2010 from Sugar Creek.
Don Roth, Don and Mark Boshart left Feb. 26 for Ecuador to build a church for an indigenous group in Arajuno in the Amazon jungle.
We had a service on Ash Wednesday to begin our Lent journey. The theme is “Holding On, Letting Go, In the Shelter of the Most High.”
Baby dedications: Deedra Ruth, daughter of Troy and Cassie Graber; Samuel David, son of Brad and April Eichelberger.
Wedding: Steve Freyenberger and Heather Walker, Feb. 13.
