Tiger tale
By Bradley Siebert“Whatcha think of that Tiger sighting in Florida?” Frank asked, as I opened my car door. We’d just arrived at church. He stood between our cars.

“Huh?” I scoured my memory for recent wildlife news stories. Gator-encounter stories regularly issue from Florida. But I hadn’t noticed a tiger tale.
“It was on a golf course.” Frank smiled slyly.
I caught his drift. “Tiger Woods,” I nodded. “Seems entirely natural.”
“Huh?” Now, Frank was nonplussed.
“He just went back to work. He’s a golfer. There’s no surprise in any golfer being seen golfing, so I think the sighting is ‘perfectly natural.’ ” I probably pay more attention to sports than I should, but this answer seemed a no-brainer.
“What about the scandal?” Frank almost gasped. Perhaps he pays more attention to tabloid journalism than he should.
“Yes,” I sighed, “he’s apparently a major championship adulterer, as well as golfer. That is disappointing. But I don’t think I have to think anything about him being seen golfing.”
“I think he owes everybody a better apology than he gave in that staged event a while back.”
“I can understand that feeling, with so many media types demanding public confession and critiquing his PR efforts, or lack thereof. That’s got to be plenty humiliating, beyond having such monumental infidelity exposed so publicly. But I just don’t feel like you do about it.”
