Special offerings over the holiday season totaled more than $6,000. The contributions were divided between MCC’s work in Sudan and the Palo Verde Middle School, a local outreach. We also donated funds and relief kit supplies in support of MCC’s response to the January earthquake that devastated Haiti. Trinity member Brent Steiner of Steiner’s Amish Furniture delivered our relief kits to the MCC collection site in Kidron, Ohio. The shipment included relief kits from Grace Mennonite in Phoenix and Lifehouse Community Church in Surprise.
A group focused on health, wellness and responsible living meets every Monday for yoga followed by a vegan potluck. Yoga instructor and Trinity member Bev Fong describes the class as focusing on the fundamentals of posture, alignment, movement and breath.
Serving And Caring Kids played games Feb. 21 with Trinity’s Glencroft retirement center residents.
Shane Hipps, lead pastor, gave his final sermon Feb. 14, welcoming the new lead pastor, Hal Shrader, to the stage. Formerly the associate pastor, Shrader was discerned by TMC to be lead pastor beginning Feb. 15. They symbolized the transition by each applying a different shade of stain to a piece of wood to denote continuity and change. Shrader was installed as lead pastor Feb. 21 by Jeannette Slater, lead elder of Pacific Southwest Conference.
