Bigger barns
I applaud Steve Swartz’s comments on “Too Much Treasure” (Mosaic, May 24). I am disturbed that many Christians and especially our Mennonite institutions like Mennonite Mutual Aid (soon to be Everence) and other financial groups continue to go the opposite direction.

I appreciated the column by Elaine Sommers Rich on the rise and fall of civilizations. She is correct that all civilizations rise and fall, and keeping this in mind is helpful for those of us who are given to despair at the direction our country seems to be going.
