Fla. congregation stands up for workers’ rights
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Farm workers from the tomato fields of southwest Florida recently rode bicycles to Publix Supermarkets headquarters, seeking just conditions and fair wages.
Kimberly Hunter, who attends Emmanuel Mennonite Church in Gainesville, was one of eight riders who made the entire 200-mile pilgrimmage from Immokalee to Lakeland.
