MDS starts projects in three states
After a historic year of devastating weather events, Mennonite Disaster Service is starting 2012 by opening new projects in Texas, Mississippi and Alabama.
They are the first new MDS projects since one opened in July in Minot, N.D. MDS now has 12 binational projects running, eight of which have opened since April.

Tornadoes spin MDS to action
LITITZ, Pa. — Tornadoes have struck with unusual frequency and ferocity this spring. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration reports 546 fatalities nationwide, the highest death toll from tornadoes since it began gathering statistics in 1950, and well above the annual average of 80 tornado-related deaths.
